✈️ "The most terrifying moment in my life". Stranded passengers have slammed Etihad's customer service after a flight to Abu Dhabi on Sunday suddenly stopped seconds before take off. As The Snap reported yesterday, the pilot's urgent actions shredded two tyres and blocked one of Melbourne Airport's runways for more than 12 hours. - Nine News

⚫A man has been killed after his car was pushed 80 metres into a tree after an allegedly stolen truck ran a red light in Footscray. - news.com.au
⚠️Cops are appealing for public assistance to help identify a group of scammers targeting people in an eastern suburb. Detectives believe that a group of three women and two men are working together in Box Hill where they separately approach old women on the street and convince their victims there is a spirit following them and they, or a family member, is in danger. After an elaborate ruse, they eventually pilfer jewellery or cash from the victim’s handbag. - Victoria Police
🛤️A man who shoved a complete stranger off a train platform during peak hour has been warned he faces almost a year behind bars. - news.com.au
🐶 A “heartbroken” woman has appealed for help from St Kilda residents after she claimed her one-year-old dog was stolen. Loki, or Ma Noi, got stolen on 15 December by “friends of friends”. The woman says she reported the incident to police but received no help. - RiSK (Facebook)
💍 A woman in Reservoir was the victim of a robbery on New Year’s Eve which “ripped the house upside down.” A silver Mercedes reportedly arrived at Hickford Street in the northern suburb and cleared out the house of valuables including a jewellery box with her mother’s ring in it. - Reservoir 3079

🎫The issue of permits just won’t go away for Melbourne’s most populous council region. The City of Casey - which includes Cranbourne and Berwick - has been taking flack for weeks about permit rules requiring residents to apply for a private land use permit if they’re planning to repair or service vehicles. Now American YouTubers are even chiming in. US car vlogger Ross Reviews got over 190,000 views on his video about the issue. - YouTube
🦘And finally…This kangaroo (she’s sleeping, don’t worry) was rescued after getting lost and wandering into a suburban garden in Lysterfield, on the eastern edge of Melbourne. After careful darting and administering some vitamin injections the Vets For Compassion team transported her to the peaceful surroundings of Lysterfield Lake. There, she settled in for a very well-deserved beauty nap and someone stayed with her for five hours to ensure her safety.
